Every sail is digitally designed, plotted on our large-scale CAD system and cut and sewn by our experienced sailmakers, giving us full control over fit, shape and quality from start to finish.
Designed and Built In-House
Our investment in a digital sail design suite and large-format CAD plotter means we can produce accurate panel layouts for any yacht sail type and size. There is no outsourcing involved. From the initial design through to the finished product, every stage of production takes place at our workshop. This allows us to respond quickly to custom requirements, make adjustments during the build if needed, and maintain consistent quality across every sail we produce.
Because we handle everything ourselves, we can also keep costs competitive. You are dealing directly with the people who design and sew your sails, with no middlemen or overseas subcontractors adding to the price.
Cruising Sails
For cruising sailors, we offer mainsails, genoas, jibs and furling headsails built for durability and ease of handling. Our cruising sails are designed to perform well across a range of conditions while standing up to the wear that comes with regular use, extended passages and UV exposure. We use proven woven polyester cloths that offer a good balance of shape retention, longevity and value for money.
We can build sails to suit roller furling systems, slab reefing setups, in-mast furling and in-boom furling. If you have specific hardware or rigging requirements, let us know and we will design around them.
Racing Sails
For racing crews looking for a performance edge, we can produce sails using higher-specification materials and tighter design tolerances. Our digital design tools allow us to model sail shapes precisely and optimise panel layouts for the loads and conditions you expect to encounter. Whether you race inshore, offshore or on the club circuit, we can work with you to develop a sail plan that suits your boat and your programme.

Materials and Expert Advice
Choosing the right sailcloth is one of the most important decisions when ordering new sails. The best material depends on how you use your boat, how often you sail, whether you race or cruise, and what your budget allows. We stock a range of woven polyester and laminate cloths from leading manufacturers, and we are happy to talk through the options with you so you can make an informed choice.
We can also advise on sail design features such as reef point placement, luff hardware, leech line arrangements, UV protection strips and window positioning. If you are replacing an existing sail, we can work from your old sail or take measurements directly from your boat.
From Dinghies to Big Yachts
Sail Register has built its reputation on dinghy sails, with production patterns for well over 100 classes. Our move into the yacht sail market is a natural extension of that expertise.
